Dear Alfisti,

during the last days a very reliable source gave me the bad news that our beloved Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese is still likely to be broken up notwithstanding the constraint of the Italian Ministry of Culture "Ministero dei Beni Culturali".

The current ownership is putting huge pressure on the Ministry in Rome with the aim of having such constraint modified. The current ownership's final goal is not only to sell some of the cars, but also to sell the whole structure, to finally move the remaining cars to Turin, and lock them in a warehouse as it has already been done with the Lancia Museum.

I ask you to show your attachment to what is every Alfisti's spiritual "home", the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese.
Built and opened on December 18th, 1976 from the then President Giuseppe Luraghi, the Alfa Romeo Museum is the essence of the Brand, it tells the story of its great victories, its great technological innovations, and its unforgettable cars.
Unfortunately there is not much time: at the end of January 2011 the Italian Ministry of Culture will evaluate the request of modification to the constraint, as sent in by the current ownership, and will eventually issue a ministerial decree protecting the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese after having examined the reasons of the promoters of this initiative against the reasons of the current ownership.

Cari amici Alfisti,



ieri sera e in tutta la giornata di oggi mi sono giunte voci, da fonti molto attendibili, che il nostro amato Museo è ancora a rischio di smembramento, nonostante il vincolo del Ministero dei Beni Culturali.



Stanno arrivando altissime pressioni a Roma per cercare di modificare il vincolo, il loro intento non è solo quello di vendere alcuni dei preziosi gioielli, ma quello di vendere la struttura intera, per poi spostare tutte le vetture rimaste a Torino e chiuderle in un capannone come è stato fatto per Lancia.



Ci chiedono una prova “tangibile” da parte di tutti gli appassionati del marchio più amato al mondo, un serie di messaggi uno dietro l’altro per manifestare il proprio affetto verso quello che per noi Alfisti è la nostra Casa, ma purtroppo non c’è tantissimo tempo: a fine mese infatti scadrà il periodo entro il quale il Ministero dei Beni Culturali dovrà verificare le opposizioni e le relative richieste di modifica, presentate dalla proprietà, dopodiché il Consiglio dei Ministri dovrà emettere il decreto prendendo in esame le ragioni di chi ha “promosso” questa iniziativa e di chi invece sta cercando in ogni modo di modificarla.



E’ stato creato un blog tanto semplice quanto spartano, con un messaggio unico, non vi resta che passare parola, cliccare sui commenti, e dire la vostra, anche solo un commento da parte di tutti noi può aiutare tantissimo.

Auto Moto d'Epoca Padua



De meesten onder ons weten dat SpaItalia, de Mille Miglia of het Spettacolo Sportivo ideale 'pepmiddelen' zijn om onze passie voor Alfa Romeo levendig te houden, maar wat doe je in het tussenseizoen na de laatste oldtimerbeurs en het autosalon in januari ? Il Biscione probeerde voor u een Italiaans 'wondermiddel' uit : de Auto Moto d'Epoca oldtimerbeurs in Padua, op zo'n uurtje rijden van Venetië. Een paar cijfers : 11 beurspaleizen en ongeveer 90.000 m2 expositieruimte ! Met stands van het Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, het Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo (RIAR), Fiat, Lancia, de Zagato Car Club, het herrezen Carrozzeria Touring, de Alfa Alfetta en 75 club, de Alfa 6C2500 Club, en zo meer is het gevaar voor een overdosis Italiaans klassiek niet denkbeeldig… Het aanbod aan boeken en tijdschriften is ronduit fenomenaal en met enig geduld (en heel veel euro's) kan je zeker met een volledige Giulietta in onderdelen naar buiten wandelen.
Een kleine greep uit het vele moois dat er te zien was op klassiek Alfa-gebied : een door het Engelse veilinghuis Coys aangeboden TZ 1, de Alfetta GTV 2 liter Groep 2 van Ballestrieri/Gigli die eind de jaren zeventig met succes werd ingezet in internationale rally's, de imposante 6C2500 cabriolet met Ghia koetswerk die naast een bordeauxkleurige 6C2500 Villa d'Este stond te pronken, een rode Giulietta SZ op de stand van Ruoteclassiche, een te restaureren Alfa 1900C, een door Autodelta geprepareerde GTV6 voor rally's uitgerust met verhoogde ophanging en Lockheed-remmen, de schitterende stand van Alfa Romeo zelf met onder meer een Alfetta 159, een 1600 GTA, een P2, een 33TT12, de 155 TI DTM van Nicola Larini allemaal uit het Museo Storico, een Alfa 1300 GTA, een 75 Turbo Evoluzione, een Alfetta GTV 2 liter Grand Prix, een zelfbouw Alfa met een op de klassieke barchetta's geïnspireerd koetswerk en moderne Alfa-techniek, een Giulia TI Super, een zeldzame in lichtgrijs gespoten RZ met speciale velgen, een Alfetta Groep 4-Turbodeltamotor met een vermogen naar keuze tussen 300 en 500 pk, enz.
En dan hebben we het nog niet over de Fiat 8V's coupé en spider, de Lancia's met zeldzame Italiaanse koetswerken, de Maserati racewagens uit de jaren vijftig en zestig, de Ferrari's gaande van 330 GTC tot en met Enzo, de BMW Spicup, de Maserati Bellagio hatchback op basis van de Quattroporte, een door Koenigg getunede Ferrari Testarossa met maar liefst 1.000 pk uit een 12-cilinder biturbo-motor (topsnelheid 370 km/u, van 0 tot 100 km/u in 3 seconden en gebouwd in amper 25 exemplaren), een door Coys geveilde Ferrari 250 TdF, een donkerblauwe Lamborghini Miura SV in nieuwstaat, Italiaanse minder bekende juweeltjes zoals Bandini, Giaur, Cisitalia 202 Spider uit 1948, Siata 750 Spring, Nardi Danese Sport 750, Moretti 750, een De Tomaso Mangusta in race-uitvoering, een Piper GT, de Porsche 914/6 rally van Waldegaard/Thorszelius, een BMC 1800 uit de Londen-Mexico rally, en wie uit was op exclusieve stukken kon zich vergapen aan een absoluut schitterende Lancia Esatau vrachtwagen, een Porsche tractor (uiteraard in Italiaans rood…), een unieke De Tomaso Longchamps vierzits cabriolet, Lancia Delta S4 rallywagen, Fiat 600 Jolly, Lancia 037 Rally in Martini-kleuren, Aston Martin DBR, Fiat-Simca Deho 8 Sport Le Mans uit 1938, en ga zo maar door.
Op de parkings tussen de verschillende expositieruimtes worden er bovendien tal van klassiekers in goede staat te koop aangeboden en als je dan ziet dat de vraagprijs voor een picobello Giulietta Berlina in originele muisgrijze kleur amper 9.500 euro bedraagt, dan ga je als liefhebber natuurlijk beginnen dromen….
Daarbij komt nog dat het restaurant in het Fiera-complex de Italiaanse keuken alle eer aandoet !
Wie het nu al voelt kriebelen, moet wel nog wachten tot oktober 2010 voor de nieuwe editie van Auto Moto d'Epoca, maar om dit Italiaanse paarde(kracht)middel uit te testen volstaat het een vlucht te boeken naar Venetië, de bus of trein te nemen tot aan het station van Padua, een kamer te boeken in het uitstekende Bel'Italia Hotel op amper 350 meter van de Fiera en voor de rest te genieten van deze oldtimerbeurs die gerust tot de beste in Europa mag worden gerekend!
